Three generations of agricultural progression

 

Located at Langenhoe Hall the Wormell family are a farming family who have been farming for 3 generations. Over the last 6 decades we have established ourselves as one of the leading farming businesses in the Colchester area. The vast majority of the land we farm is owned by the family, with further land being rented through long term agreements with both private individuals and larger corporations. We are a fully combinable crop based business focusing on producing high quality sustainable commodities from the crops we grow.  These include Wheat (for biscuits), Beans (for protien), Linseed (for oil) and Grain Maize (corn).

In modern agriculture offering a professional service is paramount to successful crop production.  The latest technology and machinery including variable rate applications, GPS guidance, fleet telematics and remote sensing are now all tools fully integrated into the business that we use  on a daily basis.  By using these tools it allows us to keep a close eye on detail which in turn means that we can look after every hectare and tailor inputs according to requirements.

At P.R Wormell Farms we pride ourselves on providing an innovative approach to agriculture which delivers sustainable results in a professional and independent way. We work closely alongside independent advisors as well as a fully qualified in house team.

With the focus on energy and the environment we have ensured that we are now moving towards a more regenerative approach where appropriate, which includes no tillage and cover crops across nearly 50% of our land, as well as offering carbon credits to offset carbon positive industries.
